Barrel maintenance vs flat tub

When not in use for extended periods, keep a small amount of water in the bottom or cap the drain. Cedar must be treated periodically with non-toxic wood conditioner formulated for food-contact use, and the interior should be inspected for biofilm in the wood grain.
